33's with a 4.5" lift. Will this work?

I'm considering a 4.5" lift, but I want 33's. Is this possible?
I don't want a 5.5 to 6" lift because I hear you need an SYE.

Pics of anyone running 33's on a 4.5" lift would be awesome. Thanks!!!

I am pretty sure it will be plenty of lift for the tires you want to run. I feel the same way about any thing larger than the 4.5" lift. See the jeep roll over post. See the I just rolled my jeep post. I know you can roll anything but tall jeeps fall harder. Tug[addsig]

i would bet you need a sye witha 4.5" lift, but i may be wrong, im a CJ man[addsig]

im doing 4.5 on my XJ, but im going 32's cause they' stuff very well into the XJ's wheel wells. they will rub a bit, but thats only at full crank. as far as the SYE, you dont HAVE to have one with 4.5, but its a good idea to get one at some point, what brand are you considering for your lift? go to www.rustysoffroad.com and look at the suspensions and read the install of the 4.5 on scott brayshaws blue XJ and he will mention his mild rubage with 32's so i would guess it would just be a little harder rubbing with 33's. good luck[addsig]

YES you will most likely need one. I put a 4.5 Rubicon lift on and I run 33's. The vibration was very annoying so I had it done. Also cosider regearing, I went with 4:11 :evil: [addsig]

Actually Rusty's is the brand I was considering. I've heard a lot of good things about it.

I read that only on the newer XJ's do they require SYE's on the 4.5" lift. I'm a little nervous to install that being soo newbie. That's part of the reason I wish I could run 33's without 6 inches.
