4.0L and AX15 Upgrade

I am purchasing a 4.0L and an AX15. I just want to know if it will fit in the same way as the 2.5 and the AX-5. Like are the engine mounts the same, can I use the same transfer case, is the dana 35 thats in there strong enough to handle the torque?

The engine mounts are different and you need a new input gear for your transfer case (23 spline).

You'll have to rework the perches that support the engine mounts, totally different than from the 2.5L.

You should be able to reuse your trans skid, just using different holes for the transmission mount. Like mentioned you'll need a different 231 input gear, I've got some if you need one.

I havent purchased the engine or the transmission yet, but in the process of it. In all is it going to be a hard and expensive swap?

Lets put it this way. For the cost and effort it's gonna cost you, you're better off swapping in a 350.

Yes, for effort and money, do something different than a run of the mill 4.0L engine. Consider a v8 or 4.3L v6.

If you want a 4.0L, trade up, otherwise you'll end up with a run of the mill 4.0L with a butchered install.
