'86 XJ gears to '88 YJ

Hi, after loking in almoust every junkyard I now, I found an old '86 XJ with 3.73 gears, my jeep has 3.07 and Im running 31" with the 258, and I with that gearing ive lost the performance it had, sow I was wondering , will the gears and cases fit into my diferentials, or are they not compatible, the XJ has Dana 35 and 30 like me, but still im not shure. the price for the two diferentials at the junkyard is $250 dlls. sow is this a good deal and a good swap or showd i save more money and get new 4.11 gears and cases $$$ :-? thanks four your help....[addsig]

Personally, I'd just regear what I already have with 4.11's.[addsig]

The D35 on both Jeeps will be the same. Thing to watch on the D30 is that they are both high-pinion, then they will work. Seems steep for used gears when you still have to swap them into you axles, lot of labor and/or install $$.

I'd keep the search going and find axles from any 4cyl. 5spd. YJ, it should have 4.11 gears stock. They will be a straight bolt-in, cost the same as the XJ axles, and save you lot's of time and $$.[addsig]
