'93 Grand Cherokee,security sys.

How do I disable the security sys. Ive tried to unlock both doors but will not let me start the car.

you need the remote to disable the system and allow you to start the car.

the car did not come with a remote.Do I have to get one or is there another way??

how did you enable the security system? are you sure it has one? are you sure that this is the problem with trying to start it?

The security sys. came on when I unlocked it , I just bought it and that was the 1st time I locked it. I did finaly disabled the sys. by grounding the door lock to the door.

you need to lock the driver door (only works with the driver door) with the key and then unlock it again with the key if you set it off. the alarm arms if you lock the doors & then shut them.

I have the same problem because i installed a remote starter. I have to be sure that all the doors are shut before I hit the lock button on the fob or the alarm arms and I end up setting it off when I try to remote start.
