I bought my first jeep in Sep. I drove it for 20 miles and desided to jump in over my head. So 4 months later the jeep has been tore down por 15 the frame and fix the rear rust spots. I put a different tub back on new fenders blah blah blah. So here is my problium I hook up the battery and the headlights come on. I walk around to the driver side to shut off the headlight switch and it is already off. The headlights are on all the time. I have to unhook the battery to turn them off. I do not have any parking or dash lights just headlights. I open the under the hood fuse box and pull the headlight fuse and the headlights stay on. I went under the dash and pulled the park light fuse and the headlights go off. I put the fuse back in under the hood for the headlights and the switch works fine but no parking lights since the park fuse is out. I put all fuses back in and right back to the beginning. I have to un hook the battery. Brake and turn signals work fine. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

sounds like the relay on the dash went out so someone hardwired them directly to the battery. a quick jerry rig is to cut and slice headlamp wires then run them straight to the battery, then to the dash w an aftermarket toggle switch? this is just a quick fix to help from popping hood every time you park. they are just like istalling aftermkt rally lights

Thanks for the reply.

Everything worked fine before I took it apart. All lights worked fine. I still have to put the fenders on so its no big deal for me to fix it right. Do I need to replace the relay? Thanks

Headlight switch was plugged in upside down. I unpluged and plugged it back in. Works fine now. Thanks for the help got it going good now.
