98 tj oil question

Hi there, New jeep owner. Just bought 98 tj and its time for an oil change. It has never had synthetic oil. I have always used Royal Purple in my previous car and like the full synyhetic but need advice as to whether my tj can be switched to synthetic without problems. Should I just stick to what has always been in it?

you can switch. i have never had problems switching anything to a synthetic oil, even with higher miles

Personally in would jeep an eye on the oil level of you do switch. Might better off with a semi syntetic first.

Thanks for the comments. I am mainly concerned about creating leaks.
