Ok so it seems this question has never been answered, what kind of windshield hinges and such does one needs for mirror movers. Can you even get them for the CJ to TJ/YJ mirror conversion?[addsig]

Welcome to the board! Sorry to be sounding stupid but what are mirror movers? Tug[addsig]

Mirror Movers are for when you take off the full doors with the mirror attached to it, and put on half doors or soft dors. The mirrors then are moved to the windshield hinge most of the time since most soft doors don't have mirrors. I don't have any, but from what I have seen, it looks like you have to make new holes in the bottom half of the windshield hinge.... so any type can be used. Again I could be wrong about how they are attached since I still have full doors, dammit! Good luck[addsig]

The only problems I have heard about the morror movers is that woth the passenger mirror moved, it's pretty much usless with the door on. Hope this helps.

All the mirror movers Ive seen have used the stock winshield hinge and hardware. No driling at all. I also saw these really neat ones that are for doors off only that go into the upper door hinge hole. The only problem is that theyre around $80.

So where any type should fit a CJ's windsheild bracket? How much do these cost? And will I be able to use YJ/TJ mirrors then? Any idea's where to look?[addsig]

I would try Quadratech...even if you buy them there,it will give you a good place to find out what you need, and a great starting point on price.

Look at the JcWhitney, 4wd or Acme catalogue, and you will see the different types of morror relocators. I am seriously thinking of getting a mirror relocator that is combined with a light mount. It's worth the extra $$$. The mirror relocators you are talking about actually come with a new morror, and you may have to drill. I don't think that the mirror relocator (pp52 @ 4WD) will fit CJ's, but there is one on the next page that will work on CJ YJ and TJ models. Look at ACME catologuw, it has the most options. Hope this helps.[addsig]

Re: About those Mirror Movers...

I am looking at the mirror movers.

Do you have to repaint your hinge after you take off your mirror and relocate it to the body? Are there any neat covers out there? I am just concerned about rust.

Re: About those Mirror Movers...

should have matching paint under the mirror bracket and the bolts get re-used on the hinge (at least on the YJ) avoid the ones that use the door hinge hole (door off only) heard the vibration makes it useless - also my passenger side bracket cracked but as posted b/4 - useless when the door uppers are on... i got mine thru JC Whitney and work well - using stock mirrors - of course the nuts inside the cowl spun and wouldnt let me use the stock holes (drilled/tapped new ones just off the originals) nice tho - my old 91 had the replacement mirrors that mount to the windshield frame bracket so they folded w/the glass - now i still have use of the mirrors when folded....

Re: About those Mirror Movers...

When I put my mirror movers on, my windshield (torx) bolts would not budge. Welded the mirror movers right on the the windshield bracket since I never have the windshield down then painted over the spots that were ground before welding. Just another option.
