ABS change out to manual

OK, I post this every 6 months or so, just in case someone new comes on board that can help.

On the 89-91 XJ, with the first ABS, Bendix 9 & 10 systems.
They are junk and have a high fail rate due to design flaws.
The NHTSB requires the dealer to warranty the main parts for life, but the best thing to do is to take out the ABS master cylinder and pressure motor and just replace it with a stock hydraulic brake system.
I have seen one tech article, but failed to print it off.

I know you can just remove the ABS master cylinder and pump and take a stock hydraulic master cylinder and vacuum booster from a 92 or so XJ and bolt it on and have a better, safer system, esp for wheeling. There was just a small issue of replacing the actuating rod with one slightly longer that I don't know about.
Has anyone out there done this or know of someone who has???

ABS is JUNK. I've had a wreck and alot of close calls because of stupid ABS. Without it I would have slid some, but not as far as I rolled while ABS was "working". DEATH TO ABS..

Even as the technology gets better, I still hate it.

From passenger cars to the large trucks we use at my work... ABS has caused maximum "pucker factor" on many occaisions.

Sorry 90, can't help ya though :(

my '90 XJ had that terrible ABS system in it, i hated it every time i drove it... had to wait 30 seconds for the ABS pump to get the brakes movin (otherwise the pedal did NOTHING), so had to be careful when starting n moving right away.

my '94 XJ with the non-abs brakes is awesome, tons of stopping power, never had a problem. i highly recommend it.
