air bag light now no horn?????

My air bag light came on about 1 week ago now my horn dont't work????? Is there a switch /wiring block or something that could have come unplugged in the steering colum aor somewhere??? I have a 97 tj. thanks :-? [addsig]

If both the SRS and the horn don't work, I'd start thinking it was something in the steering column itself.[addsig]

Did you get 'no bus' on the odometer?

Check the bus connector connecting the guage cluster to the wiring harness, you may need to redo this connection. Some jeepers bend the metal tabs slightly for better contact with the connector, then load it up with dielectric grease, then zip tie it together good.[addsig]

I dont get any messages and the lights work hi/lo wipers spray just no horn /air bag light I think I will try to take it apart this weekend and look under the plastic It seems like the most likly place for there to be a problem as all else works and no blown fuses. :-? [addsig]

Ain't electric problems a kick in the pants! I have worked all winter on the wireing on my YJ and knock on woood at least for now I am at peace with the beast! Tug[addsig]

Ok I looked at the steering column and found this ring thing around the column. And low and behold mine is full of sand ( is that the rubbing noise I've been hearing) :-? well went to the auto store and got a can of electric cleaner, sprayed the @#$* out of it and look at all the crap that came out, Now My air bag light went out Thats a start I'm hoping that in the light tomorrow I can get a good look at it and give it a good shot then hopefully the horn will work too. I'll let you know if it helps. Dealer said at least $200 for a fix if no parts are needed can of cleaner $4.23 sounds like I'll put a switch in for the horn if I can't get it working tomorrow. I also get the "No Bus" everytime that I hit a bump very hard or something. It is getting worse so I am like Bounty Hunter, I guess I need to take it all apart and clean everything. Just waiting for a litle nicer weather. Hope you figure it all out. :-D [addsig]
