the marked end of the diode goes to the relays positive side of the coil and the unmarked end goes to the negative side. How you connect it doesn't matter. You can carefully solder them to the connectors on the relay or put them in the crimp connectors on the harness if you put them on the harness make sure you insulate the diode, but MAKE SURE to put the marked side of the diode goes to the POSITIVE power input to the relay COIL not to the lights (or whatever is controlled) (having problems inserting image but it is really simple)
