Auto transmission swap

I just got a transmission from the scrap yard for my 84 CJ7. I thought it was a TF 999 like the one i pulled out. It turnsout that i got a TF-727. Normally I would be very pleased with this. But in this instance I am not. It seems that the 727 has an extra bump in the pan on the passenger side that the 999 does not have. this bump is preventing my front driveshaft from being re-attached. So believe it or not, I have a (GASP) 2WD Cj. I know it is sad, But I am hopeing someone out there might have the answer for me. If i put in a 3-4 inchsuspention lift and severly extend the bump stops, and maybe add in a shackle inversion, do you think I may get away with keeping this unit?? Or am I better off just returning it and trying to find the wimpier 999. BTW I already did drive it around a little and this transmission seems like its RIGHT ON. I shifts well and seems tight. I should also mention that in the not too distant future there is an AMC 360 waiting to be installed.

Any and all help is appreciated.[addsig]

Not a good idea to drive around without the front driveshaft installed. Your T-case won't last long. As for the bump not allowing you to attach the front driveshaft, I don't know what to suggest without seeing it myself. [addsig]

i found elsewhere that i need a 4" or better lift, and lowered bumpstops. So...It can be done! No I just need to find an inexpensive complete kit.[addsig]
