Okay, I don't know if anybody else has this problem, but I have a problem when i fill up my tank at a gas station....

You know how usually, the gas flows until it gets to the top of the tank and then somehow the filling hose knows this and cuts off?

Well, I get this ALL THE TIME no matter how full or empty my fuel tank is.... I am assuming that this has somehting to do with ventilation because when i hold the fuel nozzle in half way, i can fill the tank without any problems excapt that i have to listen carefully to the gurgling sounds as i fill up the top of the tank otherwise it will overflow

Anyways, i guess the question is, how do i fix this? [addsig]

Happened on my '80 CJ7 (when it was on the road

) What I did was hold the nozzle in the tank upside down.It may help you.[addsig]

My 79 cj5 does this. you know how the pump has like a spiral wire around it to hold it in. I put it all the way in then back it out one. then the lever that clicks on the handle so you can let go and it will pump. I cant have the handle all the way in or it keeps clicking off. I do the middle or the slowest a pain in the butt when you are in a hurry[addsig]

I just walk around all the time in a cloud of gasoline vapor, from my boots and pants legs if I´m lucky, from my crotch if I´m not (darn that burns).[addsig]

Thank god i'm not the only one. It took me 10 minutes to pump $5. Damn pump kept clicking off everytime i pulled the trigger. Is there any fix and what is the real cause? Is it just the newer gas pumps and old ass tanks don't get along?[addsig]
