Blowing warm air not hot air

I have an 01 Grand Cheerokee Lardaro. It is blowing warm air and not hot air. The temp guage shows running at normal temps.

Any thoughts on how to hot air?

Also check engine light is on.

Could be a clogged heater core. Pull the hoses of the heater valve and flush it with a hose till it runs clear, flush it both ways.

Check both heater core hoses and see if the temperature is the same on the inlet and outlet. If the temperature is cooler on one hose than the other, flush the heater core. The SES lamp might have a clue here IF the DTC is " Engine cold too long" then it would possibly be a thermostat partially sticking close.
