Bottom hex bolt on 231j t-case

Been a while since I posted. I recently got a new 231j t-case and am seeing a leak near the bottom. I've searched the web high and low as to what this "Bolt" is and have gotten no where. I must either be blind or the exploded diagrams just don't show this part.

Could someone tell me what this hex bolt is on the very bottom of the 231j t-case?

Is it fine if i torque away at this? What does it control? etc ...

Thanks in advance,

So after more searching I believe they call it a poppet screw. What exactly does it do and will I hurt anything in tightening it too much?

Thanks,

It's a detent ball and spring for the sector shaft, the thing that moves both shift forks as the shifter is moved. I believe it's sealed by an o-ring.

It's safe to remove once the transfer case is drained.
