My 92' YJ's brake lights, as of tonight, are staying on constantly. I pulled the pedel all the way back and only then will they turn off. I have 2x4 holding it up right now so it doesn't drain the battery in the winter cold. It's been in the single digits to -digits, I was wondering if anyone else has had problems with this and if I just have to tinker with the connections? I've had the jeep for 3 winters now and never had this problem. Hope someone can help. Thanks, Paul[addsig]

looking at my service manual, it shows no adjustments in the height of the pedal. it seems that unless somethign is bent, you're fix is gonna come by replacing the 'brake light switch"... good luck![addsig]

I think some you can adjust how close the switch is to the pedal[addsig]

have had the same problem with my 87 yj. it is the brake light switch that is located

up under the dash by the steering column it is attached to your brake pedal. If it gets sticky the switch does not release. try either replacing the switch (can't be that much$$)

or rip it apart and clean it up and lube it as i did.[addsig]

Thanks everyone, I'll work on it over thanksgiving. I appreciate the input. Keep on Jeepin,

The bracket that holds the switch might have a little adjustment room. Check that first, but repair the problem properly when u have the time
