breaking yoke

Hi Ladies and Gents.

I would like to know if any body knows why a yoke on a 89 jeep wrangler will brake? The yoke is broken and the cone at the back of the transver case. Any idees why it will happen.

Is it lifted? What were you doing when you broke it?

It can easily break if it's pulled too far out of the t-case, and/or too much stress is put on it.

Thanks for the reply. No the Jeep is not lifted. It is not mine. I am looking at maybe buying it. The bloke said he just went around a corner and it broke.
I am just afraid that something ceased up for it to break.

Hmmmm, no idea then without seeing a picture, to see exactly where it's broken.

If it's stock, poor maintenance of the ujoints would cause the yoke to break. I have all the replacement parts to fix it if you're interested.
