can we please get the ads and menu off the side?

I am posting this here because nobody ever looks at the forum section. The stuff at the left side of the screen takes up too much room. Can we please take it off because this causes me to have to scroll left and right just to read a post. A few days ago it was working fine without the ads and menu but now they are back.

it would be nice, but terry has to pay for this site somehow and unless youwant it to be like others where you have to pay i suggest we keep the ads... but what you can do is change your screen resolution to 1024x768 pixles versus what is mosy likley is now of 800x600 and then you wont have to scroll

1024x768 is what I use and unless there is a huge picture, I don't have to scroll left/right. Sounds like good advice. Nobody will pay for ads that can't be seen, and thankfully this site is pop-up free!

First off, This still should be in the Forum Related Section. Even if you think users don't read it, Terry (the site Admin) does. :wink:

As for the ads thing, Doesn't bother me. I am THANKFUL that there are no pop-up ads on this site, and I find Google's adsense unintrusive.

I do however use 1024x768 screen resolution on all my computers. It really is becoming the standard now anyway :mrgreen:

just a thought - can you grab the left side of the screen and drag it to the left anymore? while reading the posts, drag it over and completely cover up the favorites/search areas - may help, may not - my 2 cents worth and I'm here waiting for my change!LBR

Since the Ads help Terry support the site, how can we use them to help him get paid...and continue to perform such a valuable service?

I would not have had nearly as much success with out the help of the kind folks who frequent here, and would still be pushing my jeep around the yard pretending it ran. :wink:

lets hope those advertisers don't see this thread.... seeing that their ads are "tolerable" to "annoying". They advertise in hopes of people like us seeing them and visiting.

as for screen resolution.... i always use 1024x768... i can't stand when everything looks so big that you have to scroll left and right just to see a smiley. If my monitor had a higher resolution option, i'd use that too
