Changing A Throwout Bearing!

I'm changing a throwout bearing here in a couple of days in my 88 YJ and I was wondering if anyone out there might have any advice to make the job go smoother and easier, any little tips or tricks that would make my life easier. Well the input would be greatly appreciated.

Ya throw that s*#ty plunger thing away and swap over to a newer set-up with external slave and a real bearing and fork.

It's tough removing the Peugeot transmission and getting it back in. Just remember to not cut the plastic ties holding the throwout bearing compressed, or you could ruin it. They'll break free the first time the clutch is used after the install.

Start soaking all bolts with PB Blaster now, spraying a couple times a day until you tackle this. Take your time with the skidplate bolts so they don't spin inside the frame.

Hey Thanks For The Input Bounty Hunter. I Heard That From Someone Not To Cut The Plastic Ties. Yeah I Loosened The Skid Plate Bolts, One Is Spinning Inside The frame, The Rest Are All Gonna Come Out. But I Should Be Able To Slide It Off To The Side Out Of The Way. Gonna Tackle A Little At A Time, No Hurry To Have The Jeep On The Road. Well Thanks Again Bounty Hunter.
