They are correct. 1995 was the model year that the auto industry began the transition from OBD-I computers to the new universal OBD-II computers. ALL vehicles older than '95 will have an OBD-I style computer. Some 1995 vehicles will still have the old OBD-I while others have the new OBD-II. ALL '96 and up vehicles will have an OBD-II compatible computer.
You must have an OBD-I system which is proprietary to the make (Jeep/Chrysler). Therefore, Autozone doesn't have the right scanner (since they'd have to have a seperate scanner for each make). So you'll have to find a mechanic with a Jeep/Chrysler compatible OBD-I computer scanner :roll:
