Your favorite Non Comercial Mod's.

we have the opportunity to get a 19?? cj5 for parts or project for $200... the axles are fine, the drivetrain seems fine, but the motor is no good... we don't yet know what is wrong with the motor, but it could be a simple head gasket or something like that... if that is it, then its definitely a deal... but... if the motor has something wrong inside, what do you guys think? does anyone here need parts? what sort of transmission/Tcase might i find in there? we're talkin a 258 here for the motor... i haven't looked personally yet, i don't know details.. but for such a low price, i'm thinking it might be worth it to at least part out

Engine missing, backfire, occasionally

Selling parts alone on eBay would quad you ash at least. tug

I think you could make some money on that, more than the $200 paid. Any local jeep clubs in your area with a need for parts?

for 200 bucks it would be well worth parting it out. you could prolly sell the dana 300 for that much..(if that year of cj uses one)

that is just what i was thinking.. the parts would be worth the money and trouble to rip it apart.... there are not many jeep enthusiests here in this area so i don't have to worry about it being sucked up right away... i've got time to look into it

off a 90 Jeep Cherokee OEM Alloy Wheel/Rim- 5 SPOKE(cheap)

i had an 85 CJ and it had the 258 with an automatic trans and a dana 300. mine had an amc20 rear and a dana 30 front , for 200 bucks i would take it its worth it unless its rotted to hell then its a different story. hey snitty if you dont want it let me know what kind of shap it is in, maybe ill take it, hehe

Not too many 5's had the D300, so you may have a less desirable transfer case. Problem with not many jeep enthusiasts in the area, is finding buyers and trying to keep shipping costs down on the heavy drivetrain components.

Buy it & junk the 6.
Go find a good wrecking yard GM 350.
Advanced Adapters can seel you what you'll need to get in all running.

if we go v8... we won't keep the rest, we'd go full sized axles driven by the entire v8 drivetrain.... we're in the process of putting a monster drivetrain in BBJ now
