Coolant leak??

2001 jeep grand cherokee, inline 6. I am having to add coolant way to often and am wondering as to potential causes. No visible leakage, where is it going?

Not as far as I know. We bought it in the summer of 2009, so I am not sure before that but I dont recall having to add so much back then. I'll have my mechanic check it our as soon as my daughter is back from college on break this month.

try burping the system if theres alot of air in system it will keep taking water till all air is out of system alka seltzer works good to burp system

If the leak is internal it would either go out the tailpipe or mix in with the engine oil. Pressure test the cooling system to find the leak.

Waterpump to thermostat housing. You will see a nice build up of crustys if its them. 4.0 l like to crack heads in the later years. But fairly rare.
