i have a custom cross member/T-case skid that i wanna install.when i remove the old one,do i need to support the trans/T-case ?

don't own a floor jack and didn't wanna start to do the swap and find out i need something to hold it up..i know i might need a extra set of hands to hold up the cross member/tcase skid..(it's got some weight to it)

Thanks,Matt

HMMmm,:scratch:, I strongly feel that having a big burly guy laying on the ground with you while he holds up the trans. along with the t.case would be a good you tube moment. A scissor jack would work along with a few 4x4 pieces of wood to support the trans. and t.case. There's 2 areas where you can support it but i strongly suggest that you be careful, the scissor jack is not as stable as a floor jack. A bottle jack would be a better choice for that matter.

cool thanks.
i do have the factory bottle jack and some 4X4 pieces laying around.

this is the crossmember/t-case skid..

factory crossmember that has been cut(to reduce thickness),re-enforced and closed back up with 1/2 (?) steel and then skid attached.i've seen it tested and has held up to my friends abuse,so it should hold up to my minor wheeling..
