Difficult choice

Hi all, new here. I have a choice that I need to make between 2 Jeeps. Both are 4 cyl, 5 spd. Body, interior, both in great condition. Newer tires and wheels. Both well maintained. Now my dilemma.

Jeep one is a 91 with 90k miles, hardtop, which I would replace with a soft top. Owner is asking $3800. Jeep is in Phoenix.

Jeep two is a 95 with 165k miles. Jeep has better sound system, Borla exhaust, has soft top. Owner is asking $3500 OBO. Jeep is in San Diego. Has a good Carfax report.

Location isn't a real factor. I like the lower miles on the one but like the lower price and newer model on the other. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Jeep one needs to come off the price.
Jeep two has too many miles.

Jeep two because of the better clutch and axle shafts in the front axle. Price is a touch too high. $3000 sounds about right, maybe $3200

yeah id tell him 3 grand for it, think if you buy jeep 1 for 3800 a soft top is going to run you about 8 or 9 hundred

Offer Jeep one less $. I like the lower miles, and I know you aren't going to be going nuts with the Jeep, (as you mentioned in your early thread) so axles are probably not as big of a concern. Clutch is a minus tho, as Currupt mentioned. Insist on a carfax.

Not to mention, if the Hardtop is in decent shape, you can get a few hundred min for the top.

The prices are high because both Jeeps are out west. On the east coast, those things should sell for 3000 or less. But the Jeeps are both in dry climates with probably no rust. (if you do a bluebook, change the locations from East Coast or South, to Arizona, and watch the est. value change)

How do they look? Rust, Color, interior, etc. Can you get pics?

Both vehicles have clear Carfax reports. Also car 1 doesn't have backseat and stereo doesn't work.

I change my vote to 2 as well. That's why I asked for Pics!!! Makes for a huge difference.

im inclined to agree with all. Jeep 2 is an all around better deal. sure it has higher miles but as far as i know them 4 little squerels make for a pretty long lasting engine. correct me if im wrong (please do) but i believe that 4 popper is just the 4.0 minus two cylenders. besides it is already lifted, has tires and an all around more quality build. just my double penny.
