I havean 89' wrangler yj with gray rollbar covers. I need them black, any ideas on how to turn them black and look good at the same time?

I thought about rit dye but I dont want to screw anything up and make it look worse. The covers will be exposed 24/7 to sun ,rain ect...

any help is much appreciated, thanks

The previous owner of my YJ used RIT to dye the door uppers from spice to black. It turned out very well. They have been black now with no fading for 2 years, from what he told me. I wouldn't be afraid to try it on rollbar covers, if it was me. Actually, I was thinking of doing this myself, as my rollbar covers are still spice, with the black top. It just hasn't bothered me enough to make me go buy the dye yet. However, as always, your mileage may vary so you may want to try a small section that is less obvious and see how it turns out before you do the entire thing.

adjustable air shocks

There is black leather dy called FIEBING'S at your local tandy leather supply. USMC Black. I used it on my sun faded black covers last year and they still look great this year. it matches my soft top perfectly.
P.S. Wear latex gloves or rubber...it will stain your hands and is a S.O.B. to get off of them.. it took about three weeks for me.

thanks,I wasnt sure if the poly-cotton fab would take the dye. new covers are too $$$ so I am looking for a cheap way. thanks for the info
