i was thinking of buying a jeep cherokee in the $8k range. However, many of my friends warn me against buying a 96-98 cherokee because they have lots of electrical problems. which models and years exactly have problems, so i can avoid them?[addsig]

Check out the electrial system prior to buying it if you are afraid it may be bad. I do not remember any post here stating that there was a problem with the jeep modles you spoke of. but all jeeps have problems that makes em fun! and thay are not for everyone Tug :-D [addsig]

one/some of those years had a big problem with the fueltanks/pumps... make sure they've been addressed before you buy! [addsig]
