what reasons could my engine light come on for? oil pressure is good

what year of jeep, and it can come on for any reason mine came on for a stuck accelerator.

its a 2004. I actually just bought it. Everything seems to be in order. Check fluids, pressure, gas cap, everything sounds fine. Go to autozone and have them read the code???

I would, it could something little like O2 sensor

Does anyone know what the engine light code 5-00 means? Thats what I came up when I tried my odometer with the key off then on then off again.

my light has been on since i got it.Took it to auto zone codes came up for bad spark,bad o2 sensor.Tune up and new o2 sensor fixed that problem.
I also had one more code for low pressure,or low power steering fluid,which has a slow leak.Light still on.A small piece of electrical tape and The light is "off".Until I can fix the leak or replace the steering box.

Thanx for the info.. I took it to autozone and they sad it was either a bad o2 sensor or the catalytic converter was going bad. The one guy that worked there said if it was him, he wouldn't ever worry about it unless the light being on just drove me crazy. Does that sound accurate? I will probably change the sensor and see waht happens. On the bright side, that was the only code that came up.

Ya if you're getting a code about your o2 sensor I would replace it. Your fuel milage can go WAY down if you leave it!!
