exhaust header

i know that mu exhaust header is crack before it gets to the exhaust, could this be making everything under the hood real hot, the car runs fine 200 degfrees most of the time unless at idle, then 210, ?

Well your engine temp sounds right no but ya the crack in the header wold definitely cause the temp under hood to rise and you'll probably smell alot of exhaust fumes in the cab too. A buddy of mine has the exact same problem.

well i don't get much exhaust fumes in the cab. but will that hurt anything in the long run? and what kind of exhaust header would you recommend for as much power as possible ?

Well the increased underhood temps can lead to little stuff like rubber cracking and such, but that's really only if it's real hot under there, and as far as a good header check out quadratec.com, they've got a few different ones but everybody i've talked to says the banks brand header is a good choice man.

When the header cracked on my '92 cherokee, i put a Pacesetter on. it has lasted longer that the OEM unit.
