Fan Clutch

95 YJ almost complete conversion. Need a little advice.

I think the fan clutch, on my XJ is going out. The AUX fan seems to be coming on more often.
Went picking through my shelves in the garage, and noticed that the bolt pattern on many/all of my Dodge clutches was the same (but the fan had a reverse pitch). And my 88 Chev, had the same pitch, same thickness, just bigger diameter.
I was wondering if slapping a Chev clutch on there, might create any problems?
I´ve noticed over the years, anything with the name Jeep on it, just seems to cost more.

You could probably try it and see if the Jeep trys to overheat or not. I'd imagine as long as the air is going across the radiator in the proper direction, it can't cause to much trouble (unless the CFMs are much lower)

the fan cluch is a certain weight designed to move with the engine,if you use something that has a different wieght width and or more or less blades that will effect how it runs.you also want to make sure the spacing and the width and amont of blades are the same(or close)if they are bent it also can be a big problem.Be bettter of just breaking down and buying the fan cluch and have a peice of mind a fan blade wont fly off or your water punp shaft wont get bent.
