flomaster "new offroad" 40

I was just curious if anyone is running this muffler, its alittle more costly but looks like its built tough and will last?? im just curious if it sounds just like the normal 40 but built with diamond plate? Im pretty sure this is the muffler im going to run but want to make sure it has the same sound??? is it worth the extra money is the next ? so lets here it, if anyone can post pics too, that would be awesome

I never heard of one before, I run 40 series flowmasters on all my vehicles. I was gonna run a straight pipe on my B but if it's too obnoxious I may weld one in and try it.

I run just a regular 40 series and its sounds good to me. I'm thinking that the "new off road" might mean its more durable than the regular muffler

thats correct, suppose to be more durable, better for the off road setup

I've taken my jeep through so many things with the 40 on there and its held up pretty good so far

run a regular muffler. jeeps are prone to exhaust manifold cracking, if you hit your muffler and it is a ridgid piece of the exaust, that impact is going to transfered to another part of the exhaust.. most likely causeing damage to the manifold or collector. Personally, I would rather replace a muffler than a exhaust manifold or collector.

i have used my standard 40 seris flowmaster as a skid plate a couple times... no damage other then some scratches
