... Four Door Unlimited

i saw one today and my passenger a fellow jeeper gave him the finger while the guy rookie waved.. u know.. the FULL OUT  out the window while smiling.. i just shook my head if i pull up next to one... ill simply say.. ur not in my family, ull always be the black sheep.

Huh, that's what I said about the YJ, and now I kinda like the YJ, and then I said it about the TJ, and well.....I still don't like the TJ's that much, then the much anticipated Unlimted came out and then the 4 door TJ came out and.....well, I'll stick with the CJ's/Scrambler, thanks anyway.

Every new model of Jeep every built has had the same reactions when they start.

It doesn't seem like these things have been well recevied, but I have to admit I'm seriously considering buying one. I'm still disappointed that they don't make the cherokee anymore, but a hard top four door wrangler my fill the niche for me anyway. I bought a cherokee instead of a wrangler for the extra space, and then jeep countered with the unlimited. And now a four door? They apparently heard my request. Oh well, I've always been the black sheep anyway.

I'm already warming up to them. I don't think I would buy one but other than the ones that are 2WD they look pretty nice. The muffler and shock mount issues could be modified. I do like that it'll clear 35's with a 3" lift. This means you can run 35's with a cheap lift and no driveline mods. Not too shabby.

I received my Christmas 4WD Hardware catalog the other day and it had a few lifted ones in the back. They look pretty good.

The four doors I'm not a huge fan of just becasue there's less sheet metal that I could cut, but I did see one today, and it wasn't terrible. Like everything DC does, theres gonna be bugs that are gonna have to be worked out by the aftermarket companies. They screwed up with the VD on the YJ, plastic gas tank skids on a TJ, IFS on the KJ, etc...

Drove by the dealership and saw a couple sitting out. The 4 door was odd but the 2 door didn't look bad. They had them flexed on a rock and for stock it was a pretty big rock. Might swing by ad take a closer look. I'll wave to them and i hope it's not a bunch of soccer mom's that won't wave back.

So I crawled under the one that was parked in the lot at school today... The front axle u joints.. MASSIVE. Almost Dana 60 size. I was shocked. I kinda like the X-member for the tcase, and the gas tank skid is pretty beefy, looks like 3/16 steel. I was surprised at how well put together it looked underneath. My only beef is the driveshafts. Way too big and they use CV Joints. That and the new BFG's look nasty as hell, I mistook it for a MT/R at first.
