Frame HELP!!

Hey Guys
I have a 98 jeep wrangler with a little rust problem :x ..I've already repaired some in the rear near the shock mounts. I plasms cut all the crap and welded in new steel...Now onto my next issue,My wife was driving it yesterday and the skip plate decided it didn't want to hang around on one side anymore .A big section of the frame there is TOAST!! Has anybody here had to deal with this and if so how did you fix it? I'm in need of speed and cheapness because this is my daily driver..Thanks

Just keep welding in panels overthe bad areas. All you can do for now. Save up for another frame

As superJ as mentioned, cuting out and welding in new metal is about all you can do. The tractor supply store in my area sells all types of metal. I would get some shaped like angle iron and cut out around your body mount and use that to weld the new metal to, I would also buy a flat peice to rebox the inside of the frame as well. Weld new nuts to the inside before boxing the frame so you can bolt you xmember back on.

The captured nuts on for the skid plate on my CJ had broken loose. The previous owner just got long bolts and went all the way thru the frame. You do have some issues that need taken care of though. You can make your own repair section like the safety cap in the ad. I really can't believe they ask that much $$$ for those. They could be made really easy. I would take a grinder and go over the frame to get an idea where you have good metal to weld to. Maybe open up a couple of the big holes and treat it inside to slow it down.
