Ok, I have a 97 tj 2.5l automatic. If I go somewhere and it sits for not much longer than 5-10min it is hard to start. It act's like its flooded and after about 5-6 tries it fires right up and has now problems. But if it sits for roughly 30min or longer it starts just fine. I have replaced the spark plugs and put a .040 gap in them. Cleaned the air idle control valve. Changed the upper oxygen sensor and cleaned the throttle body. Hopefully its not the fuel pump. Has anyone had similar problems and if so what causes this to happen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Will do. I was thinking the same. It feels like its burning what gas is in the line then dies. Then it takes a sec for the fuel pump to kick in. Once that happens it runs fine. Pain in the butt.

Gap is too big on your plugs. Not the cause but is just too big.

Try this: Turn the key to on but do not start the engine. Wait 3-4 sec then off an don again for 3 -4 sec, then start. If the bleed back valve is stuck all gas will drain back into the tank.
