Well my jeep is sluggish with bigger tires and stock gears. What is the best route to go, I was thinking some 4.56 gears with dana 30 in front and 35 in back. What all intails of this project, is it just the pinion gears or is there alot more to this than I think? And was thinking about a locker is it best to put it in front or back, I think my spider gears are bad in the front?

What's your stock axle ratio? Do you plan on staying with the 32" tires or going bigger? Which engine and transmission do you have? Does the jeep see much offroad use or more for onroad?

Answer those and we can better suggest what axle ratio to use.

Changing the ring and pinion gears is a pretty precise installation that requires some specialty tools. It's commonly left to experienced mechanics.

I'd like to get in on this, if that's alright? I just got 33"s. Daily driver, don't plan on going any larger than 35" at the most down the road. AX-15, D30/D35, Hope to see some big rocks once the SYE is installed, but fairly decent trails for now. Is that enough info?

4.11's for 33 and decent mpg. 4.56's for 35-36. 4.88's for bigger or more offroad then dd. (all considering you have 4.0/ax-15)

BH, You know, I'm not sure. I thought all YJ's came stock with 3.73 but aparetly not. I might have them thought because I don't feel too slugish. If a stop sign is on a hill I'll start in first with the new tires, but flat I can do second with a slight clutch feather... How would I find out my ratio? Is that a VIN # thing?
