hard top

Does anyone know if a 2004 factory hard top will fit a 1997 TJ? There was a change in the tops in 2004 and the vent was moved from the rear pillar to the ?rear tail gate? behind the spare tire mount. Other than that, does the top fit? If the top fits on the '97 body am I ventless? do I care?

you should, your heater and vent and just about everything else related to air won't work properly.

and the anwswer to if it fits, I dunno, I think the windshield bow changed in 03, but I think you can swap the parts over.

I had an 03 hard top on my 97 for a while, the rear two mounting holes had to be re-drilled in the hard top (not a big deal) as for the vents, you have to shut the door a little harder. you can feel the vacume of air when you shut the door, but not a huge deal, the rear defrost and wiper wire harness is not the same. As for 04 not sure if its compatable. Check to see if the 03 and 04 are the same. If they are you should be good to go.
