My frame off rebuild is 95% complete on my '80 CJ-7. I purchased a hard top that I'm going to install. I have all the pre-drilled holes for the top on my Jeep. Is there any foam or weather stripping that goes on the bottem of the hard top. I really don't want to scratch up my new paint! Or do I just slap it on and keep gett'in it! That's probably what AMC did![addsig]

My YJ didn't have anything under the sides of the hardtop. I added some foam canopy tape. I reduces noises on bumps and doesn't scratch your paint all up. It also creates a better seal of your top to the body so water doesn't get in.[addsig]

Look in the Q-Tec catalog under Hardtop accessories, you should find a seal kit. ($31.95) You can probably find the same stuff at a hardware store.[addsig]
