Help!! I have a '91 Cherokee Limited that's having headlight problems. They won't shut off! The highbeam indicator light on the dash is also constantly on. Does anyone know what to do? Thanx in advance.

sounds like a bad switch or relay.

May have to check fuses also-- not too sure.

I have a '74 cj-5 and the hi-low beam floor switch was stuck--

had to replace the switch. good luck- and welcome to the board!!! Neal[addsig]

Actually I rechecked the headlights and they turn off fine. My highbeams won't shut down. I've been flashed and yelled at enough times times tonight.

Probably like the man said, the high beam relay is stuck or the high beam switch is broken. Do you hear a klick when you try switching from low to high beam. If yes, try pulling the relays one at a time and check to see if the high beams go out. The high beam relay is either on the right fender well, inside the engine compatrment (under the cover) or on the left side fender well, up high. Tried looking up the location, no luck. Hope I helped a little.[addsig]

Sorry I may have sent you on a wild relay chase, book says the relay, I´m thinking of, is for the fog lights (LH engine compartment). The book shows no relay for the high beams on your model (probably why I couldn´t find a location

) book say it´s probably the high beam switch in the steering column.[addsig]

this sounds like the problem I'm having, lights stay on with switch in any position and

the high beam switch works fine. I'll try to disconnect the daytime running lights... but

could someone tell me where the relay is? I don't have the manual and I don't see it

marked anywhere. Its a 1996 Cherokee Sport. Thanks.jeep@3bell.com[addsig]

no battery = no headlight problems.... just rip out the battery and get a hand crank to power the starter[addsig]
