Welcome, I like the wagons.
Me too!!! I never really thought about owning one, but this deal was too good to pass up. I absolutely love this Wagoneer! Even my 18 year old daughter thinks it's cool!
It does need some things, but hey, I feel so good about this deal that I have a big grin on my face just thinking about it!
It needs:
Either a new steering column, or the tilt pins tightened.
Font suspension rebuilt.
New window felt and weather stripping.
Window lifts probably could be rebuilt.
Driver's door lock does not work.
Thank God for Bj's Off Road!!! He seems to have everything I'm gonna need. Is there another good supplier?
While I'm on the subject...maybe I should put this in a technical forum...
When I do the suspension I want to put a lift on it. I also want to do new body bushings. Should I use the "lift" bushings in conjunction with lifting blocks or springs? Or just use standard body bushings and lift it via blocks/springs?
How do I change the pinion angle? I know it needs to be done when lowering a car, so I'm sure it needs to be done when lifting a truck. My old Trans Am had a different rear-end setup (and no front diff...), so I'm not real sure how to change the angle on this beasty. On my TA I installed an adjustable torque arm with a Heim joint that I would use to change the angle. And, what about the length of the driveshaft? At some point, a longer DS will be required when lifting the Jeep...obviously...but...how high can I go with the stock DS? I don't know what lift I want to do. It's either 4" or 6". There is a pic of a blue Waggy on BJ's site, that one has the same lift I want.
Also, is there a rear-end disk brake setup in a junk yard that will bolt onto this Jeep?
