you can mount the hi-lift behind the drivers seat..Attach to the roll bar with a wing nut and to the floor....if you have a swing out tire carrier you can mount to that... in my opinon... stay away from mounting on the front bumper, it's open to road grim, banging on rocks and getting caked in mud... if they get caked in mud they can fail..( i had one fail on me in july.. luckly the wheels were still on and no real damage was done) just my $0.02 [addsig]

Nice set up... Unfortunately, my 91 doesn't have a sport cage like yours... I wonder if it'd fit in the flat surface above the rear wheels...

Also, I noticed your base plate has been separated from the actual jack... Is it much of a hassle to reunite the two while on the trail???[addsig]

I simply drilled holes in my jeep rack, found a couple 3" bolts and bolted the gizmo up. Rattles up a storm, but with all the other noises my jeep makes, it's hardly noticable anymore. ( I do bungi down the handle too!)[addsig]

i welded mine to the top of the inside fenderwells. i took 2 studs ,welded them on the top of the wells, slipped the jack over them used 2 washers and wingnuts.the jack sits out of site mostly behind the rear seat and i can still use the space behind the seat for my toolbox and assorted fluids.[addsig]

Like crazy-canuk said, take a look at the pin that holds the base to the jack, similar to what's on some of the quick disconnects out there. Takes about 15 seconds to get the wingnuts off, base on, and jack in service. Quicker than most other setups, and most importantly, keeps the jack clean and in working order. Seen too many that won't work right, most are mounted outside the jeep.[addsig]

First thing to point out is that in over ten years of Jeeping I have only seen a Hi-Lift Jack in use a few times. With that in mind I found a place that's out of the way, but still handy when needed. We use our Jeep for Rock Crawling and are never in a hurry anyway. I slid the handle and jack bar into the round frame tube behind the front bumper, with a rag wrapped around it to eliminate rattles. I then secured both ends with tumbler style pad locks for easy removal. It has been in there so long, I might have to take it out to see if it still works. I put the base and the jack into a bag (along with a small bottle jack) under the passenger seat. Outta sight outta mind. (Works for me)
