I have a 94 cherokee, Im looking into buying a 4.5" RE lift kit. This kit includes 1" transfer case lowering kit. RE recommends purchashing a SYE kit. Will I be able to get away with not getting the SYE for awhile? Help is greatly appreciated. [addsig]

from what i have heard FROM other peoples experiences. you WILL need the SYE no matter what. [addsig]

Pretty much any lift over 4" SHOULD have SYE. Sometimes it isn't needed, but most of the time it is to get rid of driveline vibrations, and it is very useful if you break a shaft.[addsig]

I talked with one of the guys at Crawltech. He said that they have done a few for the Re 4.5" lifts and that they had no problems with it. What I think im going to do is save up enough to cover a sye if its needed. Then if its not I can buy something else for my jeep.

Personally, I would STRONGLY recommend it if you go over 4". I've done several hundred lifts, and only about 10 of thoses were ok without it. Just my opinoin and advice.[addsig]

the lwb cherokee is a bit more forgiving when it comes to rear drive shaft angles.

I'd be more worried about not having as much slip left with the slip yoke then vibes, which is why RE recommends you have it. You might not need it, but it's a good idea to get it.[addsig]
