is the old radiator size ok?

im swaping my amc 304 for a 360. will I need to get the 5.9 size radiator or can I keep the 5.0? I know I can get them off a wagoneer but I think those are too big. would I have to get a custom fit one?

You should be okay with the 304 radiator. I ran mine for 4 years after swapping the 304 to a 360 AMC with no problem until the tank cracked due to old age. Now i'm running it with an aluminum radiator i purchased from 4wd hardware and an electric fan from a 98 GC with an automatic / adjustable thermostat module from Carquest. It stays around 195*.

ya I wouldn't worry about it, pretty much the same motor, same heat production

Don't worry about it I am running a 401 and have only had problems while running with a large group in dessert at about 110 degrees with the AC running. We were moving real slow that day finally got out where I could get moving and no more problem.

Shouldn't be an issue, I'm running the stock radiator and 160 degree thermostat, it never even thinks of overheating.
