The bodys in great shape,paints good,its a '76 with '78 axles,a '91 4.O L Man 4-sp,4wd(72K actual miles).Tires are new,and I know the vehicles history is clean reliability wise.
The injection has been swapped for an aluminum intake and a Ford 2BBLcarb,yeah......points too....no puter.....(Maybe this is a plus?)

Price is having to frame a small outbuilding(me and a buddy for a day or so)which seems reasonable.

On to my point, has anyone here driven one of these in the Mt states @ elevation? This one has lived at 5500ft,but my activities are up from there to around 10Kft.......am I asking for trouble with a carb?

FWIW,this vehicle will never see the freeway, strictly a thrasher, highest travel speeds will be about 65,mostly under 50,with lots of climbing.

Go or No go......gotta decide today.

Thanks,

I would say go. You might want to see if you can get the injection and puter along with it if they still exist. It would make off camber and high altitude adjustments a no brainer. And if the J10 dosn't work out for you and your buddy your only out a day or so of framing and can sell it or start modifying it more.

I say Go as well and as for the non computer controlled fuel delivery system, i would be more confident with the fuel injection than the carburator. there are several software updates from Chrysler thats specifically for high altitude vehicles that will give you the best performance and efficiency..The price tag is not a bad deal if your confident enough to think that its a fair deal..

Thanks,Its in my driveway now......ran it for a bit yesterday and decided to keep it.Had forgotten how low 4WD *LOW*can be.....what a crawler.......

I snagged the old injection stuff(free)just in case ......also picked up a puter for my 89XJ for 5 bucks.........happy with that one.

The only thing that doesnt work on the J10 is the stock fuel tank(rotted hose)but thats an easy fix,and the 40 gallon aux tank should get me by for now.Too much snow on the ground to crawl under and theres no room in the shop.

Thanks again for the input,guys!

Well post some pictures........im all about free or next to free jeeps.

Well,I have pix on my phone, but I would have zero idea how to get them to the puter..........I have tried,it is genetically pre-determined that I will never be able to post pix.My skillset is limited to sending them to another cell phone.

I'll e-mail pix to who-the-flip-ever...or send it to their phone......I am less of a puter guy than I am a mechanic;and *that* is saying something..............

However,if you need a Hydrogen Furnace,Windmill,Oil Rig,22 Ton stack silencer or the like built....Basically fab and fit from .062 to 4" plate.......I'm the guy.

Maybe if the puter was *heavier*..........
