Jeep T-5 for a good T-5

I'm running an 83 CJ-7 with a 401 V8. I currently have the stock T-5 transmission as well as the stock axles. If I want to put on a T-5 transmission from a Mustang or something like that, will I run into problems? Is there a different 5-spd transmission that would present fewer problems? How much $$$ would be a fair price for a garage to take care of something like this? Swapping trannies is out of my league.

Thanks for your help [addsig]

are you talking about a world class t5? ill assume you are. you will need an adapter of sometype, i belive it is for the tcase. advanced adapters sells them along w/ others[addsig]

after posting that, i started thinking, why not just get a real truck transmission i.e. a NV4500 that has a low 1st and OD.... do you wheel your jeep, or is it street driven[addsig]

I was out in the woods today and started smoking up the T-5. It's my daily driver, but I also spend a lot of time fishing, hiking, etc... I like the overdrive of the T-5, I'd just like something a little beefier. Would the truck transmission have fewer adapters?[addsig]

it would need one for engine and tcase i would think, but would be ALOT better off road
