JK frame with Classic body

hi everyone. I just joined this forum. hoping i might find someone with some knowledge on custom build. I do some custom work but have not tried to swap different year bodies and frames. I have a complete rolling chassis 2 door 2008 rubicon jk. drivestrain axles frame ect. I can't find a jk tub. thinking about getting a cj tub to mount to the jk chassis. does anyone know what year would be closest for the body mounts? not even sure if it is realistic possible.. I think a classic body on the new chassis would be quite unique and reliable. also the chassis has been up for rock crawling so I have a lot of good parts invested just need a body. any thoughts appreciated.

I would like to see the end result. It would definately be a one of a kind!

Would look cool, but you would most likely widen the body to fit the body mounts, or move the mounts to the inside of the frame, I have seen that done on a full size bronco, pull off the bronco drop a ranger on. The frame sticks out a bit, no body protection needed:)

We put a CJ body on a TJ frame. my advise, cut all the body mounts off, use some pieces of wood between the frame and body to mock it up. Get some new body mounts bushings. Place and fit them to mount the body to the frame. it will take some work, but doable. Dimentionallythe JK wheel trac is wider, I do not know if the frames are though. The frame length should be with in an inch or two of a CJ7, but with a link type suspension, tecnically anything in front of the grill mount or behid the tub can be cut off and capped.

the yj is 10" shorter then a cj7? how can so many people put yj tubs on their cj7 so easily?

Aqualu.com builds bodys and frames, might be able to help you out.
