No, the TJ transfer case will NOT leak fluid with the rear driveshaft removed. The TJ transfer case has a seal that fits tightly around the transfer case tailshaft, not around the outside of the slipyoke as on older jeeps.I know you have to take the four bolts off the back of the pinion on the diff.
