Re: RE: Re: RE: I finally found the Video

I took off thursday and Monday from work to see my Bills kick some butt against the Texans in Buffalo. Obviously I wasnt going to do any work over my little vaca so I left my laptop at work. Come monday morning it was gone, along with another guys in the office next to me (I think it was Kanye West who stole it.... )

But the real question is do I have to reset all my passwords now. I dont have any passwords saved, But I do do alot of online banking and I access all my stocks and stuff via computer. If the passwords are not saved then they arent anywhere else on the computer right? Computer guys I need your help. Thanks

well the cookies save some logins automatically but not usally passswords... your best bet is to start reseting ASAP just incase and for piece of mind and if your like me somtimes i get mouse happy and start clicking remember password just cause.

Rest assured that every keystroke you've ever made on that computer is still there if the thief has the brains to pull them up. I wouldn't waste time posting until all the passwords (and maybe even account numbers) have been changed!

Re: Spool VS Locker

He wouldn't need some of the passwords, they are easy to get around. My Father-in-law does it all the time (i.e.-forgotten password, Dell will just tell you to but a new comp, not'unh don't even think about it) but that is just for the comp' not on-line stuff

Was it a burglary or cleaing crew thief?

We arent sure. There isnt any signs of forced entry but the back door is a little screwy and if you dont deadbolt it you can pretty easily open the handle lock.

Re: RE: Laptop Stolen

All the passwords are changed. That kinda sucked. now I have a whole new set to remember. But atleast nothing bad was done to my online accounts.

However, I think that might take some brains and one would think that if he was smart enough to do that he might have a job making pretty good money somewhere. I change all my passwords ASAP. Plus, when I'm done doing my online banking or anything financial I always clear my cookies and temp internet files. I'm sure that's not enough, but it helps me sleep a little better.

not true... yes any cookies will auto log them in to site, but the keystrokes are not logged anywhere. the only real concern is any files in the internet cache, and most sites that you need to login to are secure which means that the data is NOT cached.
