I caught the fish coming back from a trail ride...13 miles up a crappy road with the wife and boys to an old mining town called Kirwin. Amelia Earhart had a cabin built up there just before she disappeared. During the drive you cross the river 3 times. Kids LOVED that.

That's another thing I like about this forum, you guys post some awesome pictures. I've never been to the main land, so all these pictures are motivating me to save some money and take that trip one day.

there are some cool places to visit over here, just like over there though. i used to love going down those mud slides just off the highway on oahu when going across from one side of hte island to the other as a kid. didn't like the falling off the water fall on the way up but the rest was fun

Lol I know what you mean. Maybe I should start a thread just for photos we take while cruising in our jeeps. I like the ones with hunting and fishing with the awesome backgrounds. Keep it coming guys. Aloha

i was google mapping where we used to live and someone took a shot of a hill we used to ride our bikes down all the time. it looks exactly like it did 30 years ago when we lived there. and akahi elementary school looks the same but with updated plastic playgrounds.

we had to learn some song back then, started out akahi no kuai or something. we had to do a show and all the kids wore purple, the girls in purple flowery long dresses and the boys in purple flowery skirts. then we had pig cooked under ground wrapped in banana leaves, if i remember right

holy crap guys, i found the one we had to sing for that show

we only did the chorus, i think, but this is hte song we had to learn and do at the parent show in kindergarten or first grade.

Oh man you just took me back to my high school days. All the schools had may day programs and all the islands had different colors. Cooking pig in the emu. And shredding the meat to make kalua. Ha ha. The traditions are still alive, now I get to see my kids do it.

Utah, I do not want to hear about what you are sneaking and doing in the middle of the night.

Really? And here I thought you liked late night adventures....:shades:

I most certainly do like them. That's why I have 4 Hella's on the front of my LJ. However, clearly I am not invited to this late night 'sneak' adventure of yours :(, so I do not want to hear about it.
