Lights flashing randomly on Grand Cherokee

The lights are flashing on and off randomly tonight on our Gr. Cherokee ! Any ideass on what is the culprit? Thanks

The headlights and all parking lights. We turned OFF the auto lights on feature and that stopped it, but why have that feature if you have to turn it on everytime you get in the car?

With the auto light feature turned on, it shouldn't flash at all. Sounds like you have an electrical issue, possibly a loose ground or loose signal circuit in the system, in some cases, the light photo sensor on top of the dash, IF it's malfunctioning will cause that issue. Make sure there's no obstruction on that sensor.

That sounds correct. Is there a dash cover on it covering the sensor? or Maybe alarm trigger is messed up??

had the same issue for a very long time and all of a sudden it corrected itself..
would be driving along and the lights would turn themselves off and back on(whole thing took less than 2 seconds) very disconcerting when driving the mountain passes here in Colorado at night.
