Little help with idle

Just picked up 99 xj all was good for awhile but now it Doesn't want to idle starts right up the first time then dies start it a second time and it just turns over intill i give it gas will run as long as i give it gas let off pedel and it dies out heres the kicker as far as i can tell its not the original engine it has a distributor if im right im sure the 99 did not have a distributor it appears to have a new tps all sensors at tb look brand new and no ck engine light or codes

I had the same issue on my 2001 6-cyl. It was the battery. Have it tested and check the battery terminals

check your IAC motor. The (Idle Air Control) on your throttle body may be clogged up with greasy gunk ? Im going thru the same thing on a 1996 jeep cherokee sport. But it can be so many things.. clogged muffler, Bad fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, the temp sensor by your thermostat, bad fuel that has (water) in it. freckin colder than normal weather.. etc

My '96 had a bad throttle position sensor. Had to keep my foot on the gas, to keep it from stalling.
