Went on a shopping spree at Northern Tools yesterday, spent $70 for the jack, and another 30 for the bumper mount. I'm thinking money well spent.

One thing that bummed me out was that the $35 "farm jack" that was right next to the Hi-Lift had a nice rubber grip for the handle, but the Hi-Lift wanted me to buy a rubber jack mate to keep the handle from vibrating.

And it'll take a lot of maintenance to keep an 'outside mounted' jack in working order. I prefer stretched just above the tailgate area mounted to each side of the rollbar uprights.

Nice looking jack, they're handy (and very dangerous at times).

I've almost broke my jaw once or twice... That's a quick way to learn lesson. They're great for a lot of things. The best place I've found for a hi lift to fit is across the tailgate on the inside between the roll bar and the tub.

I'll have to dig up that hi-lift mounting thread and have a look. I may just make up an inside mount like Bounty suggests, and only put it in my Jeep when I'm going wheeling. With my 2" of lift, a stock Jack should be fine on the street.

Indeed it takes maintenance as well as it can hurt your leg if you cross it wrong!LOL.( perhaps mine is mounted on wrong) Although, I am certain to be happy that I have mine, for it has come in handy!

I bought the exact same jack at the same place just last week. Great minds think alike I guess.8)

I considered the bumper mount as well but decided against it for now.

I have mine mounted between the roll bars along the tailgate. Works well for me, thou I only really keep it there when I am going wheeling.
Parts list:
2 chain link fence pole straps.( can't remember the correct name. they are the straps that hold the fence to the pole.)
2 long bolts and wing nuts.

All can be found at any lowes/HDepot for like $5.

The only thing I don't like is that it has torn up my roll bar padding over time. Not that big of a deal though.

The farm jacks seem like a bargain at first, but I have seen plenty of broken ones. The ratchet mechanism seems prone to failure.

I use two dog collar leashes and strap it to the roll bar where ever it is conveinent that particular day.

FYI... If you guys have a Tracor supply, or Farm and Fleet... you can get a good Hi lift Jack for 27 dollars....
