Master cylinder

I replaced the master cylinder on my cj. I bled the front brakes with no problem. When I bled the back brakes, I coulden't get any fluid to come out. I took the line loose where it tees to the back brakes, and no fluid would come out. Any ideas? It has power brakes if that makes any difference.

What year CJ? Some 76-79 (maybe even more years) had a little pin sticking out of the proportioning block. You need to pull that outward and hold it there while you bleed the brakes. The pin has a groove around the tip which was for a special holding tool. The tool was just a fork shaped thin metal thing with a bend in it. It held the pin out under spring tension caused by the tool flexing.
Hope this helps...
